    Choco To Me

    January 27th, 2010

Stumbled upon these awesome chocolate bars by the Brooklyn, N.Y. outfit, Chocolate Editions. They do special orders in small batches, which I’m thinking make lovely gifts for relatives or friends helping out with the wedding. Or even as favors for a smaller wedding. A nice way to say “thanks” in chocolate.

Oh, and “Mary and Matt” are the first names of the couple who conceived these beauts. Check out this clever little pie chart!

    Audrey For Your Monday

    January 25th, 2010

It’s been cold, gray and rainy for a week in the Bay Area now, and it’s starting to bug me a little. I thought of what might cheer me up, and I thought of Audrey Hepburn… in a wedding dress! Both in film, and in real life.

    Fun with Paper

    January 20th, 2010

Those guys and gals at Anthropologie really know how to craft it up. Case in point: this amazing display full of paper chains and paper polar bears in the store window of the San Francisco store during Christmas. Inspiring, no?

A Rose by Any Other Name

    January 16th, 2010

I don’t know how long Lela Rose has been doing dresses for the Dessy Group–a year maybe? Well I just found out she’s making specifically bridesmaid dresses that are really quite lovely and wearable post-wedding. If you’re going to spend money on it, shouldn’t it be something you can use over and over? Lela Rose is easily on my short list of wedding dress gown designers and one of the best I’ve seen doing creative things in cottons and appliques, and always so elegantly.

I spotted this gown marketed as part of the Spring 2010 bridesmaid collection, but it would make a beautiful wedding gown as well. I think the best part of this collection is the wide range of colors and always a white or ivory choice in there too. So you can absolutely save some money with your dress!

And this bridesmaid gown is one of my faves, in a rich peacock blue–the main color for one of my best friend’s weddings I’m doing this summer!

Bonus! Next month Lela Rose debuts her Spring 2010 collection for Payless, so you can save even MORE!

    Oxfords Wedding

    January 15th, 2010

I love the nonchalance of this wedding.

And the oxfords. Oh, the oxfords. And if you’re wondering, because I was, where the dress was from, it’s by an Australian label called Rodeo Show.

    F21 circle necklace

I saw this necklace today and it made me think about my own wedding planning a few years ago. I very much wanted a black and white themed wedding, but alas it was not meant to be. Color ruled instead. On a hunt for more black and white inspiration, I found good ‘ol Martha Stewart had a whole gallery of tuxedo-inspired wedding details. Take this, for example:

    tuxedo back train

I’d remove the bow headband on this, though. That’s a lot of bow already! Anyway the necklace is $8.80 and the dress is $3,200 by Jussara Lee (212-242-4128). I’d get the necklace and save bucks on a dress with a sweet bow or buttons to mimic the tuxedo effect. Which would you choose?

    Bicycle Thursdays

    January 14th, 2010

I usually end up biking to work on Thursdays–it’s about 10 miles round trip, a few hills on the way there and back. Typical San Francisco. I’m devoting Thursdays of this blog to couples and bikes, because sometimes there’s nothin’ cuter. See Exhibit A from Target’s Club Wedd ad series, below. Daisies! Greenery! Tulle! The flats with the little sparkle! The groom’s colored socks! Yum, yum, yum.
