Rainy Days & Marshmallows
February 19th, 2010Because it’s about to rain today and through the weekend, I needed this visual pick me up. What’s cuter than mini marshmallows? Apparently marshmallows shaped like clouds. By Herriott Grace.

Twigs & Honey
February 9th, 2010There are some weddings I remember very well during the course of my own wedding planning in 2007, and the wedding of Myra Kim was one of the ones that stuck. I feel like we shared some of the same design vision–natural, organic, casual but still elegant and refined. And the details! Oh, the details. She had a plenty, including her fantastic hair pieces, for herself and her bridesmaids. She began making more hair pieces and then opened Twigs & Honey, where she’s churning out more dramatic and charming headgear but also shrugs, belts and jewelry. Check out the goods at her Etsy shop!
Vintage Stylings
February 8th, 2010Prop and floral stylist Chelsea Fuss, of one of my favorite blogs, {frolic!} unveiled her collaboration with Elizabeth Dye and other Portland collaborators. The styling’s impeccable and the influences range from haberdashery to vintage sewing rooms. So sweet and soft and Old World. I love it. And the hair pieces by Twigs & Honey–just delicious! See more here. Exquisite photos by Lisa Waringer, who also has a blog.
It’s Heart-y Time in the City
February 5th, 2010Just a few photos I shot riding home on my bike the other night. You know we’re getting close to Lovey Dovey day when the city’s awash in red. I’m filing these images for some fun V-Day decor or some other shindig.

At the supercute clothing store, Dema, in the Mission. You can't see it here, but over the mannequins' heads were these old school see-through umbrellas.

At one of my fave Bernal stores, Heartfelt. I love the big blow-up hearts with hand-painted sayings. Be fun to replicate for a wedding, engagement party or for the reception!

Bicycle Thursday
February 4th, 2010So loving the PBR cans attached to the bike. And the Vans. And the paper airplanes. And the triple-buckle flats. From the wedding of two Etsians, Anda and Peter.
Chanel Goes Futuristic Bridal
February 3rd, 2010Never you mind the Bride of Frankstein hairstyles and robotic-looking models. Instead gaze upon the luscious and ethereal gowns by the one and only Chanel. From the Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2010 collection. Breathtaking.
Metallic match made in heaven.
Silver rosettes–love.
With a jacket, of course.
Pretty in pink.

Love Me Tender
February 2nd, 2010What’s not to love about these vases? I love the Jonathan Adler-esque quality to them! It’d be a super sweet present for your honey, Valentine’s Day or not. Or buy a trio of them and set them out by your guest sign-in book or escort card table. Possibilities abound. By San Francisco-based Etsy shop, oneblackbird.
Now Writing At: Jorg + Olif
February 1st, 2010Hiya sportsfans! Just letting you know I’m also writing over at Jorg + Olif, a very cool new lifestyle brand representing the Slow Life movement globally. The Slow Life is just how it sounds: living slowly, deliberately, sensibly and with authenticity. How can you live the Slow Life? Support local. Try that yoga class. Head down to the farmers market. Take a cooking class. Buy a recycled leather bag. Support your local cookie store. The Slow Life, for me, is about drinking life in and being connected. Grounded. Read more about the Slow Life, and how you can get it on the action at Jorg + Olif!
A Spot of Butter
February 1st, 2010Feast your eyes on this vintage, buttercream-colored lace number, from Etsy seller Becky Drolen Vintage. She’s got some great stuff in her shop!
