    Tiny Print

    June 30th, 2010

Nothing like a sweet print to get you out of feeling heavy. Love that you can personalize this, what a great memento.

    imagination is business

It’s been a rough couple of weeks that have been a series of high (my birthday) and low (the passing of my beloved grandfather, Buddy).

Loss always begs introspection. And that’s where I am, evaluating the pace and quality of my life and how much time I give to things, like this blog. Don’t get me wrong, I love my blog and the joys of it, but I’d be lying if I didn’t say it was hard work and that I wasn’t up clicking and posting and pasting into the wee hours.

Lily Spruce has been an enormous creative outlet. And the blog extension of my business will continue to be that as well. But for now, I want my posts to inspire. I want to keep reposting at a minimum. I want to come up with original content you won’t find anywhere else.

And that will take some time. So I ask that you bear with me as I take this path and figure out what that means and what it will look and sound like. Posts may be sparse until then so hang tight, we’ll get there.

And in the meantime, if you’d like to drop me a note about what you’ve enjoyed reading here, please DO.

I’ve been drawn lately to paper and all the manipulations of them, like below. By Dutch artist Ferry Staverman.

    Heart of the Matter

    June 8th, 2010

Everyone’s jumping on the bridal train… Urban Outfitters, and now, Nordstrom. I love these pics from their latest catalog. How fun and easy would it be to replicate that heart drawing for a photo booth area?

    When in Portland

    June 4th, 2010

These are the times I wish we could travel with the click of our heels or the snap of our fingers: Elizabeth Dye, who makes the most gorgeous and original wedding gowns ever, is hosting a DIY workshop for brides-to-be who desire bridal accoutrements like a sash, headpiece, combs, etc. She’s calling it Finishing School, and I so want to enroll. Maybe my Portland readers will sign up? Go here.

    A Ballet Wedding

    June 3rd, 2010

I recently had a talk with one of my Lily Spruce team members about truly having an original wedding. It’s really, really hard to be original! So I flipped for this photoshoot spread manned by Chelsea Fuss, who’s always so spot-on. And original, of course.

    Sneak Peek: Alex + Alicia

    June 2nd, 2010

    A+A in field

Just a fun sneak peek at the wedding of Alex & Alicia, who were married May 15 at Alex’s parents’ rose farm in Healdsburg, Calif. I know I keep saying this, but stay tuned for more details from my four May weddings.

    Lily Spruce Splashes Down!

    June 1st, 2010
Me and my biz, Lily Spruce, were mentioned in the new Spring 2010 magazine (print and online) of industry rag Northern California Meetings & Events magazine. The article is on agritourism–basically how venues in the Napa/Sacramento area are responding to/reflecting on the farm-to-table movement/lifestyle.
Digital version: http://www.nxtbook.com/nxtbooks/tigeroak/ncme_2010spring/index.php?startid=36 (I’m on page 38 with a contact info in sidebar)
Thought it’d be fun to share with you!
