    Hard + Soft

    September 22nd, 2010

I love these turquoise-colored spikes on this necklace! Paired with a simple strapless, column wedding dress like this one from Ann Taylor (only $495!), it’d be dee-vine for a modern wedding held on the beach or at an art gallery. From UK-based Vamoose.

    Clean and Bright

    September 20th, 2010

One of my all-time style heroes is stylist Jessica de Ruiter. Much like Jenna Lyons, she favors the look of American, classic sportswear-with-a-mild-twist look, but with less embellishment than Ms. Jenna and far more simplicity. Her pieces fit well and are unfussy but still understated, glamorous and clean.

So of course I wasn’t the bit surprised at her wedding dress choice. What I was surprised by, was how natural and bright she looked in it. It’s De La Renta, natch. You can read this Toronto Life article about how the dress was chosen. I think it’s perfection!

What do you think? P.S. I think the groom looks pretty snappy too–Dior Homme. Sharp.

I love the advice she gives at the end of the article about weddings: “The day should feel authentic, feel like you.”

    I couldn’t agree more.

Ya’ll know how I love bunting and banners. But how about one topped on a cake! I love these. From Etsy shop Kiki La Ru. Love the styling as well. Get one for your next celebration!

    Fascinated

    September 15th, 2010

I am just utterly charmed by this fascinator combo. The Lillies of the Valley that are holding court are just the icing on the cake!

Once again, from Etsy shop Bohemian Bisoux Vintage, which has wedding vintage galore. Check it out.

Looking at it over and over again, it may have to be mine!

    Hiya, Happy (groan) Monday.

So a while back, I remember very clearly when I spied these very cool, pinata-like confetti thingamabobs in an Urban Outfitters catalog. Clothes? Pssshh. I thought these were way more interesting. They’re from the minds of Julie Ho and Nicholas Anderson, and you can see more behind-the-scenes on how they make these whatchamakalits here. You can also own your own Confetti System wonder here.

Can you imagine? Strung at a reception? Done in rows for a photo booth? It’s also great inspiration for a DIY project!

    What a Chuppa

    September 10th, 2010

There are chuppas. And then there’s this chuppa. Wow. Impressive. Creative. Romantic. Whimsical.

    And doable.

    I’m filing it away stat!

I love the sheer joy on the groom’s face. And the blue bike! It belongs to the couple, Julie and Nathan, who used it for their engagement shoot by awesome San Francisco-based Gertrude and Mabel Photography. Check out more wonderfulness from this wedding here. More to share next Thursday!
