Marchesa is known the world over for its glamorous frocks worn by the prettiest ladies and actresses strutting on red carpets. It’s beautiful stuff, people. Case in point, Nicole Richie’s dress, reportedly 100 yards of tulle.

And now, Marchesa for the Real People–a.k.a “Pearl by Georgina Chapman of Marchesa” line now selling at JC Penney’s nationwide. For those of you keeping score, that’s $250 for the Marchesa look, and certainly not the price. For which I say, thanks Georgina.

There are also some elegant styles for bridesmaids and for guests. I like this sequined dress and this long-sleeved, lacey short dress number.

Once again, Joanna at CupofJo has banged out another amazingly easy hair tutorial. It’d be so beautiful on brides and bridesmaids alike. I’m even planning on trying it as an everyday hairstyle.

Craft a Life

There’s something new launching tomorrow, a new online shopping site that I can’t name til Tuesday. I was hired to do the launch party at the fabulous Makeshift Society in San Francisco, and boy did I have fun executing this. Here’s a little a little preview of the DIY station for guests, in which I spelled out “craft a life” on the walls, made out of materials I have on hand: sponge tip applicators, paint brushes, shoe laces and more. Instead of traditional flower vases I also bought big spools of crochet thread, and filled those with flowers from the San Francisco Flower Mart.

We’re awaiting the profesh pics from Sarah Deragon, who was the official photog for the evening, and I’ll be sure to post them!

Man Repeller Gets Wed

Next to weddings, I follow fashion pretty religiously. Combine fashion girls getting hitched, well, call it mad love. So when Leandra Medine of Man Repeller blog fame got married this past weekend, naturally I was curious. True to Man Repeller form, homegirl stayed true to her style essence, wearing arm candy (she coined the term!) and a jacket and glittery sneaker wedges. It’s a good lesson in being your best, honest self on one of the most best, honest days of a woman’s life.

Congrats Leandra!

P.S. She wore off-the-rack Marchesa!
