I don’t know how long Lela Rose has been doing dresses for the Dessy Group–a year maybe? Well I just found out she’s making specifically bridesmaid dresses that are really quite lovely and wearable post-wedding. If you’re going to spend money on it, shouldn’t it be something you can use over and over? Lela Rose is easily on my short list of wedding dress gown designers and one of the best I’ve seen doing creative things in cottons and appliques, and always so elegantly.

I spotted this gown marketed as part of the Spring 2010 bridesmaid collection, but it would make a beautiful wedding gown as well. I think the best part of this collection is the wide range of colors and always a white or ivory choice in there too. So you can absolutely save some money with your dress!

And this bridesmaid gown is one of my faves, in a rich peacock blue–the main color for one of my best friend’s weddings I’m doing this summer!
